simple makeup storage tutorial

Hello my lovelies, I apologize for a being bit MIA in the past two weeks.  I gotta admit I am kind of in a blogging rut.  Nonetheless I'm very excited to show you my latest project.  I'm really happy with how it turned out, and I hope you're impressed.

I transformed my Ikea small chest of drawers in which I am storing my makeup.  I don't know how much this retails for or if Ikea still carries this.  I got mine from Craigslist for $7.  For the longest time I have left it unfinished because I had no idea what to do with it.  Looks like everyone is using stencils for damask or chevron patterns for these types of furniture makeover.  I really want to do something different and inexpensive.

This is how a little bit of paint and a few sheets of doilies could do.  The paint color I used is Perfect Beige by Behr--I used this color on my kitchen walls.

On an unrelated note, I have somewhat of a makeup addiction.

  4. How appropriate,, feminine doilies for a woman's makeup case. Very nice
( ps I have never been a chevron fan, not in the late 1960s early 70s and not now)

  5. Love your make up center! I've got so much that I never use anymore. It's all in a banged up train case, yours is so much nicer! Love the perfume shelve too.

  6. This is so wonderful! So glad to see that you're back in the blogosphere. I think anything with doilies is cuter. Cute and functional, my kind of project.
